Decluttering and organizing your clothes will assist you with attracting more life experiences that feel just as great as your wardrobe. Embrace a new you.

There are many benefits to decluttering and organizing one's clothes. Holding on to items that no longer serve you, keep you living in the past. Letting go, helps the process of moving forward and living in the present moment.

There are many reasons why a person holds on to something, as from personal experience I do know that holding on to things that no longer serve you, hold you back in life.

Holding on is like saying "yes" to:

  • things that don't fit (clothes and symbolically it can represent holding on to situations that don't fit in your life.)
  • things that you don't like (keeping you in receiving mode of things or situations that are not pleasing in life.)

Why not say "yes" to clothes that you enjoy wearing, that are flattering and comfortable? You in turn will attract situations that are joyful, flattering and comfortable. Ever notice how a favorite outfit, shirt or pair of pants make you feel and how your day usually follows on a good note?

Decluttering and Organizing Process

  1. Be in a state of readiness and crank up the music.
  2. Have something to drink near by, preferably a glass of water.
  3. Empty all of your drawers out onto your bed.
  4. Go through and without thinking, select items that you are ready to let go of and place them in a bag.
  5. Fold like items into piles (short sleeve shirts, long sleeve shirts, pjs, gym wear, shorts etc.
  6. See just how many shirts, pj's, sweat pants etc. you have.
  7. Clear the closet and drawers of items that do not belong or things that you find irritating, like wire hangers.

Now ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Do you really wear them?
  2. Do you really need that many of the same item?
  3. Do really like it?
  4. Does it fit?

At this point, you hopefully will have let go of a few more items. Now whether it is a dresser or closet you are decluttering, the same process can be applied. Create drawers based on theme, the exercise drawer, the casual wear drawer, the intimate apparel drawer, etc. Having like items together, will assist you when selecting something to wear.

Allow Your outerwear to support your inner wear. No matter what size or weight you are, find clothes that fit you properly and those that make you feel confident. Having a few items that someone really loves is much more beneficial then having a ton of clothes that make you feel mediocre.

Tip: On your next clothes shopping adventure, try to keep your purchase to one or two items. Choose those pieces that truly make you feel transformed.
